Facets Yarn - World Culture

FACETS is one of Fairfax County’s largest social safety nets, helping families, children, and individuals move from crisis to stability. We meet people where they are – often at life’s most vulnerable moments – and help build stronger futures. The facets of a diamond or other precious stone are the flat surfaces that have been cut on its outside.

FACETS works closely with partners across Fairfax County to provide individualized services and support. The Coordinated Services team can help you access food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, healthcare and other resources. In 1988, FACETS (Fairfax Area Christian Emergency Transition Services) was established by Linda D. Wimpey and other volunteers from local faith communities to provide meals to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Fairfax County, Virginia.
