Marlin 22 Trigger Assembly - World Culture

I just acquired the new Ruger Marlin 336 and have found it to be an awesome piece of work. The trigger is heavy and I am certain that over time it will wear in. Any input on this new piece is appreciated.

I also have the original Marlin 1936 in 30.30. I'm looking at scopes for my Marlin and can't decided between the Leupold VX-Freedom 2-7x33mm and Leupold VX-Freedom CDS 3-9x 40mm Rifle Scope - Duplex.
